Photo Journal 1: coast of Croatia
From Zagreb to Dubrovnik
Most people write their posts backwards, chronologically documenting from most recent to past events. While I may do this with Itineraries, this blog section will be a mix of recent, and not so recent travel events and stories from my experiences. A little less than a year ago, I made the spontaneous decision to go to Croatia (a place I had wanted to visit for a long time), and it seemed fitting to make this post now. I needed some time by the sea and also wanted to explore a part of Europe that was completely new to me. I bought an overnight train ticket from Zurich to Zagreb and spent two weeks island hopping and exploring the coast.
What is a Photo Journal?
Photo Journals are a collection of photos chronologically documenting a trip through pictures (with notes of course). One of my biggest inspirations and motivations to start Meer·weh came from the photos I take, loving the creative process of editing and drawing them, and making a story with pictures. It is my favorite ways to document my trips:)

Croatia is one of my favorite places I have ever visited. A place that is rich in history and nature, Croatia has stunning architecture, old streets in hilly towns, beautiful cliffs, translucent turquoise water, and culture. I met many kind locals working in the accommodations where I stayed and I learned about the lives of people who lived and persevered through war and hard times. I will always remember and hope to go back sometime soon.
Thank you for being here!𓇼
